Gone are the days of baking a whole chicken for several hours only to have to suffer though dinner with a dry bird with slimy skin. Ready in less than an hour, this Ninja Foodi Whole Chicken Recipe will be your go-to recipe for a quick weeknight meal or even a holiday occasion. Use the leftover, moist meat and create this Savory Chicken Taco Casserole the next day.
Will I Need The Ninja Foodi Or Can I Use My Instapot?
For this recipe, I used my 8 quart Ninja Foodi. If you have not purchased one of these remarkable items, I will say it is my go to kitchen appliance replacing my oven, my crockpot, and even my stove top. You can make entire meals using only one pot. The Ninja Foodi has an pressure cooker (Instapot) as well as an air crisp feature. Though you can use your Instapot for this recipe, you will also need an air fryer. Should you have a combination pressure cooker and air fryer, this recipe will work. Using both the pressure cooker and air fryer is key to create the perfect combination of moist meat with the crispy skin. This Ninja Foodi Whole Chicken Recipe the absolute best!
Ninja Foodi Chicken Recipe
This recipe is painfully easy. Just pop the chicken into the Ninja Foodi and let it do all the hard work.
Clean out the cavity of your chicken should it include a bag of chicken parts. Season the outside and inside of the chicken. I used McCormick’s Perfect Pinch Rotisserie Chicken Seasoning and Garlic Powder.

Place one cup of water into the removable pot.
Include the cook and crisp basket for this recipe After you pressure cook, you will be using the air fryer. I sprayed my cook and crisp basket with olive oil spray and then put my seasoned chicken into the basket.
As I mentioned, I have an 8 Quart Ninja Foodi. My chicken was about 5 pounds and fit perfectly.

Place the pressure lid on the Ninja Foodi. Make sure the valve is set to Seal. Leave on the high settings and set for 20 minutes.
While the chicken is pressure cooking, combine 2 tablespoons of Butter and one teaspoon of minced garlic. Heat this butter mixture in microwave for about 20 seconds or until the butter is melted.

When the pressure cooking cycle is complete, quick release the steam by moving the valve from Seal to Vent.
When the steam has been completely released, carefully remove the pressure lid.
Using a brush or a spoon, spread the melted butter mixture on the outside of the chicken’s skin.
Close the attached crisping lid. Hit the air crisp setting. Set at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

That’s it! I sliced the meat from the chicken while it remained in the Ninja Foodi, however you may remove it using mitts. Because I am on a low carb diet, I served my Ninjaj Foodi Whole Chicken with some sliced zucchini and yellow squash.

In Summary
To quote Frank Perdue, ” It takes a tough man to make a tender chicken.” Thankfully, you can now be a completely lazy man (or in my case women), and have a wonderfully delicious chicken dinner with no effort whatsoever.
