Use the Ninja Foodi or any brand air fryer to make these brats

I have the Ninja Foodi. This awesome kitchen gadget is an Instapot, air fryer, and oven all in one. Replace any of your appliances and now your BBQ grill. Instead, just use your Ninja Foodi 9 in 1.

I am on the quest to try to make everything and anything in my Ninja Foodi. The best part is most recipes can be recreated using just the Ninja Foodi instead of several appliances. Many recipes are even better using the Ninja Foodi. In this case, Brats In The Air Fryer are just as tasty as firing up the BBQ grill. Whether you have the Ninja Foodi like I do or any air fryer oven, this recipe for easy air fryer brats is a delicious dinner in a matter of minutes.

How to Cook Brats In Air Fryer

This recipe’s ingredient list includes only a package of raw bratwursts. Though the only ingredient is a package of your favorite brats like Johnsonville Brats, I love to add red and green bell peppers and onions. Because I am a mom and have the right to be lazy whenever I can find time to be, I choose to purchase the already cut frozen peppers and onions.

I like to add peppers and onions to my brats

With only two steps, this is the quickest method to make these brats in air fryer.

Step one: Layer the air fryer basket with parchment paper or aluminum foil to keep all juices on the raw brats, peppers, and onions as they cook. Put the uncooked brats as well as any peppers and onions in the foil lined fryer basket. The Ninja Foodi has a removable pot so I chose to use this instead of the basket. Make sure the bratwursts are in a single layer.

Layer the peppers under the brats in a single layer before air frying

Step 2: Set to air fry at 390 degrees for 8-10 minutes of cook time. Turn the bratwursts half way through.

That’s it!

Air Fryer Beer Brats–A Twist On A Great Recipe

If you are looking for a twist on an already great recipe, make Air Fryer Beer Brats. One of my favorite ways to make bratwursts in the air fryer is to add a little drizzle of local craft beer to the bratwursts as they cook. You can use any beer of your choice, however a light beer is normally the best option. I use a local beers called Polar Pilsner brewed by the Florida Brewery in Auburndale that I like to use in my beer based recipes.

Make this recipe the same way. The only difference is you should add a cup of favorite light beer to the raw bratwursts in the removable pot before setting to air fry.

What should you serve with bratwurst sausages?

What should you serve with the cooked sausages?

If you are on a low carb diet, the air fryer bratwurst sausage are good on their own with the sauteed peppers. Serve them with a vegetable and a low carb ketchup or mustard. A great way to add a bit of spice is to top them with a slice of pepper jack cheese.

Not worried about your carbohydrate intake? Serve these delicious brats on your favorite hot dog bun, brat bun, or favorite sub loaf with a side of Crispy Frozen Air Fryer Tater Tots or potato salad.
