I liked big buns and I cannot lie. Well Cinnamon buns that is. This recipe for air fryer cinnamon rolls is so simple. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, these are ready in minutes, a bit crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. After trying them in the air fryer, you will never bake your cinnamon rolls again!

Cinnamon Rolls In The Air Fryer
I recommending using the Great Value brand cinnamon rolls. I have mentioned I am frugal so many times I choose the store brand name to save a few cents. In this case, I have tried different brands to include Pillsbury Original Cinnamon Rolls and I much prefer the taste of the Great Value Brand. (Read below for my review of Pillsbury).
Canned Cinnamon Rolls In The Air Fryer
This recipe is not for homemade cinnamon rolls. Instead, you will only need a tube of cinnamon rolls that come with the already prepared frosting. Choose your favorite brand. You may add some delicious toppings such as a little bit of brown sugar, melted butter, chopped pecans, or raisins to the top of the cinnamon rolls.
The Great Value Cinnamon Rolls are pretty small. Other brands may be larger. As always recommended, due to the size of your buns and the brand of air fryer you are using, the cooking time will vary. You should check on your cinnamon rolls regularly (every minute or so) to make sure they are not burning.
This recipe is for the original sized cinnamon rolls, not the Grands.
Ninja Foodi Cinnamon Rolls
I have the Ninja Foodi 8 Quart 9 in 1 Deluxe. I cannot recommend it enough as not only can you air fry, you can also pressure cook, broil/roast, steam, sear, even dehydrate.
If your air fryer does not automatically pre-heat, I recommend pre-heating your air fryer at 400 degrees for 3 minutes.
Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Place cinnamon rolls in a single layer on the bottom of the cook and crisp basket. The cinnamon rolls should be touching each other in the bottom of the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make two batches as the rolls should be place into a single layer. You do not need any nonstick spray.

Should you wish to add any additional toppings such as brown sugar, pecans or raisins, add them to the cinnamon rolls before air frying.
Close the air crisping lid. Set the temperature to 400 degrees with a bake time of 5-6 minutes. Check on them as they cook. The cook time may vary depending on the brand of cinnamon rolls and the brand of your air fryer. They are ready when they are golden brown.
Remove the sweet rolls. Cut open the icing packet included in the can and squirt onto the top of the air fried cinnamon rolls. Spread evenly with a knife.

Serve the warm rolls. You may wish to top your finished rolls with additional cinnamon mixture, warm unsalted butter, or powered sugar/confectioner’s sugar.
How To Store Left Over Cinnamon Rolls
Should you have any leftover cinnamon rolls, which is highly unlikely, the easiest way to store them is to place them in an airtight container at keep it room temperature. I recommended placing the leftover rolls on a piece of parchment paper or aluminum foil and storing them in a single layer.
My Review Of Pillsbury Original Cinnamon Rolls
As mentioned before, I would recommend Great Value or Walmart’s brand of cinnamon rolls over Pillsbury. There are several reasons why.
First, Great Value is about 70 cents cheaper. You get the same number of cinnamon rolls no matter if you choose Great Value or Pillsbury.
The Pillsbury cinnamon rolls were more like biscuits not only in they way they look but also in the consistency when eaten. Check out the picture below. There seemed to be less cinnamon filling or flavoring in the Pillsbury Original Cinnamon Rolls as well. The Great Value cinnamon rolls were the perfect size though they did appear to be smaller cinnamon rolls.

I made the Pillsbury Original Cinnamon Rolls the same way as the Great Value brand. The Pillsbury cinnamon rolls needed the full 6 minutes to air fry. In fact, they made have been better had I added a little extra time.
The icing for the Great Value brand cinnamon rolls came in a small icing baggy. Just cut the corner and squeeze the icing onto the rolls. This was very easy. The icing for the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls came in a small container. You needed to use a knife to smear the icing from the container onto the rolls. This was not difficult by any means but I preferred the icing bag. The icing flavor of the Great Value brand was better tasting in my opinion.
