I do not know about you but mastering rice has always been iffy for me. Will it turn out crunchy or too mushy? If I take the lid off too soon have I ruined everything? After trying this recipe for Ninja Foodi rice, I do not have that fear any longer. It is super simple and ready in a matter of minutes. The rice is fluffy and perfectly cooked. Use this white rice in any of your other recipes, or maybe even try chicken fried rice or Mexican rice for your next dinner.

Rice In Ninja Foodi

The key to the perfect Ninja Foodi rice is to start by sauteing the rice in butter, followed by a quick pressure cook, and finally a natural release of the steam. After several trials and errors, I have found this order of cooking will provide the best results. For perfect rice with an amazing consistency, I use this recipe. Let’s get started.

Cooking Rice In Ninja Foodi

Place the removable pot into the Ninja Foodi and press the Saute’ feature. You will keep the lid open and set it to high. Start by adding 2 tablespoons of butter to the inside pot of the Ninja Foodi and let it melt.

Saute' butter in the removable inner pot.

While the butter is melting, measure two cups of rice. After the butter has melted, add the rice to the pan. Stir to coat the rice in butter. You will saute’ the rice on high for about 45 seconds to a minute.

Add 2 cups of rice and saute' for 45 seconds.

Add 2 1/3 cups of water to the removable pot. For additional flavor, you could use chicken broth or vegetable broth.

Place the pressure cooker lid onto the Ninja Foodi with the steam valve sealed. Press the pressure cook button and set the temperature to low. Change the cooking time to 3 minutes and select start. Make note that you should not use the high setting for this recipe.

The Ninja Foodi will take several minutes to come up to pressure and then the rice should pressure cook for 3 minutes.

When the 3 minutes cook time has finished, you will allow the steam to naturally release for 10 minutes. This simply means not to move the valve from seal to vent until the 10 minutes has passed.

After 10 minutes, move the valve from seal to vent and quick release the remaining steam.

And that is it. Perfect fluffy rice ready in minutes. Serve in a variety of ways–add meat or use in a casserole.

This recipe yields 6 cups of white rice. There are 206 calories in a cup of rice.

If you have an Instant Pot, use the high saute’ feature, the same amount of water, the same amount of rice, and the manual setting for the pressure cooking.
