Why Make Chili In The Ninja Foodi?

Why should you make Ninja Foodi Chili? Why not! The absolute best part of this incredible invention, the Ninja Foodi, to me is the versatility of its use. You can make an entire meal and only have to clean one pot. In the case of the Ninja Foodi, I have the 8 Quart size and it has a massive pot that is perfect for chili.

Steps To Making Ninja Foodi Chili

The steps to making Ninja Foodi Chili are incredibly easy. This recipe can be made in less than 30 minutes, however I highly recommend letting the finished chili sit in the warm pot for up to an hour in order to get the most flavor.

Brown The Meat

The first step to this recipe is browning the ground meat of your choice. I chose to use Ground Beef Chuck, however you can use any meat you like such as ground turkey, ground chicken, or regular ground beef.

You will put one pound of the meat of your choice into the removable pot.

Add about 1-2 cups of bell peppers and onions. I really love onions and peppers so I added the full 2 cups. I also love buying the frozen kind as they are already cut up. How easy is it to just throw them in the pot? Not only are they already cut for me, they contain a variety of peppers to include green pepper, red pepper, and even yellow pepper making my chili very colorful.

Combine Beef and Peppers

Hit the sauté function and set the temperature to high.

You will cook the meat and pepper mixture until brown. For me, this took about 7 minutes. As you cook the mixture, the peppers and onions will soften.

Sauté until browned

You will need to drain off any grease from the meat. To do this, use an oven mitt and take the inner pot out of the Ninja Foodi shell. I used a lid to another pot similar in size and held it over the top while tipping the removable pot allowing the grease to escape but the meat mixture to remain.

Make The Sauce

It is now time to make the sauce. The rest of the ingredients canned ingredients.

Dump one can of beef broth. You can use chicken broth as well, however I prefer beef for making chili.

Add one can of cream of mushroom soup.

Add Beef Broth and Cream of Mushroom Soup

Use two 15.5 ounce cans of chili beans of your choice. I chose cans that contained chili sauce. If you do not choose cans that contain a sauce, you should drain them first. You can use kidney beans, pinto beans, black beans, or a combination of all of them. Pour beans into the pot.

Add two cans of chili beans

The last can would be a 28 ounce can of petite diced tomatoes with the juice.

Add one can of diced tomatoes

Throw in a package of chili seasoning and one teaspoon of garlic powder. Stir all the ingredients together. Add salt and black pepper to taste. I needed about 2 teaspoons.

Combine the dry seasoning to finish the Ninja Foodi Chili

Keep the saute mode on high for about 15 minutes while stirring frequently to prevent it from burning.

Serve with your favorite toppings such as grated cheddar cheese and sour cream. Another great way to eat chili is with ritz crackers or even tortilla chips.

My Tips And Recommendations

This recipe for hearty chili is a family favorite. Though it can be ready after heating the recipe on high for 15 minutes, I recommend letting the chili’s flavors meld on low heat for about 45 minutes to an hour. To do this, you have several options.

*The easiest is to set the saute’ temperature to low and let it set for 45 minutes.

*You can also use the slow cooker function but you will need to let it set for several hours on this setting.

Make Your Own Chili Seasoning Packet

If you do not have a chili seasoning packet on hand, you can easily make your own. Combine the following into a small bowl:

1 Tablespoon Chili Powder

1 Teaspoon Cumin

1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder

1 Teaspoon Salt

1 Teaspoon Black Pepper

How Do I Store Any Leftover Chili?

I feel like chili is even better the next day! What do you think?

You can store leftover chili in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

To reheat it, simply put the serving into a smaller glass bowl and heat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. If you wish to reheat all of the leftover chili, you can place the remaining soup back into the removable cooking pot and heat by using the saute’ function on high with a cook time of approximately 5-10 minutes stirring frequently.

You can also reheat chili using a pot on the stove top. Turn the burner heat to high and heat for approximately 5-10 minutes stirring frequently.
