I absolutely love biscuits and gravy, however because I am a diabetic I do not get to eat them very often. There is nothing more Southern than some delicious biscuits smothered in sausage gravy. Am I right? For dinner last night (yes you read that right! I love breakfast for dinner!), I made this Biscuits and Gravy Ninja Foodi Breakfast Casserole. It was super simple to make and more importantly was scrumptious. Whether you serve it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, try this recipe today! You will not be disappointed.

Ingredients In Biscuits and Gravy Ninja Foodi Breakfast Casserole
The ingredients for this easy breakfast casserole are pretty self explanatory. There are biscuits with sausage gravy of course, but the recipe also incorporates eggs, cheese, and I used half and half but milk can be used.
For this recipe, I used Walmart’s brand of Great Value Butter Biscuits in the can. You could make your own biscuit dough, however if you have read any of my other recipes you know I am lazy.
I used the Pioneer sausage gravy packet to make my gravy. The flavor of this gravy was not as flavorful as I would have liked it. I added some of my favorite Cavender’s Greek Seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder to give the gravy an extra punch. Taste it before adding it to the sausage and decide if you want to add some additional seasoning. Any brand gravy mix will work for this recipe.
What settings on the Ninja Foodi Will I Use For This Recipe?
The beauty of this recipe is it can be made in the one pot that comes with the new Ninja Foodi multi-cooker. You will be using three of the cooking functions to include: the Sear/Saute’ function, the Bake/Roast function, and finally the Air Crisp function.
This is one of very few recipes I have published where you will use so many functions in one recipe.

Biscuits and Gravy Ninja Foodi Breakfast Casserole
So what are the steps to make this recipe? Well, let’s get started.
You will first add a pound of sausage to the removable pot of the Ninja Foodi. Set the cooking function to Sear/Saute’ and the temperature to High. Brown the sausage. This took me about 10 minutes to complete. I used a plastic spatula to stir the sausage meat frequently. You will want to break it into crumbles as it cooks.

Making the sausage gravy
While the sausage is cooking, make your gravy. As mentioned, I used the Pioneer sausage gravy packet mix. I made it using the instructions, however I substituted half and half for the second part water. The instructions state to bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a rolling bowl. It states to add the contents to the packet to an additional 1/2 cup water. I, instead, used half and half. I recommend using at least milk here if you like your gravy creamy. Combine the contents of the gravy packet with the cold half and half and whisk until the powder is dissolved.
When the 1 1/2 cups water has come to a boil, add the milk mixture and stir until it thickens. Remove from the heat.
My gravy came out very thick so I added another 2 tablespoons of milk to the gravy and stirred to thin it some. I also added some Cavendar’s Greek Seasoning, garlic powder, as well as onion powder as I felt the gravy was very bland.
Drain off any excess grease from the browned sausage. I have a glass lid that fits my removable pot and I used that to put over the top to allow me to pour off the grease but keep the sausage in the pot.
Add the gravy mix to the sausage. Change the temperature seating from high to low and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes. You will want the flavor of the sausage to permeate the gravy. Stir frequently to keep the gravy from burning.

While the sausage and gravy combine flavors, crack 6 large eggs into a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of half and half. Whisk the eggs to combine the milk.
Bake/Roast The Ninja Foodi Breakfast Casserole
When the gravy mix is ready, turn off the power to the Ninja Foodi. You will add the egg mixture and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the sausage and gravy. Stir to combine.

Hit the power button to turn the Ninja Foodi back on. This time you will choose the Bake/Roast cooking function. You will set the temperature to 350 degrees and the time to 15 minutes. Close the attached lid.
While the sausage, gravy, egg, and cheese mixture is baking, you should open the roll of biscuits. Cut each biscuit into four pieces but cutting in half and then half again.

After baking the sausage, gravy, egg, and cheese casserole for 15 minutes, it should be firm and golden brown. You can use a fork to prick the casserole to make sure it is fully cooked.

Air Crisp/Air Fry The Biscuit Topping
Turn off the Ninja Foodi’s power.
Place the cut up pieces of biscuits in a single layer on the top of the egg mixture. I have an 8 quart Ninja Foodi and the 8 biscuits cut into four pieces each fit perfectly. Be careful when placing the biscuits into the pot so as not to burn your arms. The rim of the removable pot will be very hot.
Shut the attached lid. Turn the power back on. Click on the air crisp function. Set the temperature to 350 degrees and the time to 7 minutes. You will want to check on the biscuits by lifting the lid every 2-3 minutes to make sure the biscuits do not burn.
When they are a golden brown, turn off the Ninja Foodi.

And that’s it. It is now time to eat your delicious masterpiece.
In summary
If someone says biscuits and gravy is not a meal, stop talking to them. You do not need that kind of negativity in your life.
