Low Carb Pizza Recipe Without Using Fathead Dough
I am not a fan of Fathead Dough. There, I said it. I am a diabetic and therefore I was looking for a great alternative to bread or in the case of pizza, dough. All of my Google and Pinterest searches led to me to try Fathead Dough. With high hopes, I did. And I did not like it. I may be one of the few who is not a fan of the taste of this low carb bread substitute. Honestly, I am not a fan of anything that I have tried made with coconut flour or almond flour.
If you, like me, do not care for the taste of fathead pizza dough OR if you are looking for another alternative for a low carb option for pizza, this recipe is for you!

No Carb Pizza Recipe?
I cannot guarantee this recipe has zero carbs because if you use veggies and a low carb pizza or tomato sauce, there will be some carbohydrates in this recipe. The good news is the amount of carbs in this recipe is very few.
What Are The Ingredients In This Low Carb Pizza Recipe?
The main ingredient in this low carb pizza dough is ground chicken. In addition to one pound of ground chicken, the recipe includes one egg, one cup of grated parmesan cheese or powered parmesan cheese, one cup of mozzarella cheese, minced garlic and onion, Italian seasoning, and any toppings you wish to include on your pizza.
Low carbohydrate toppings for pizza could include cheese, pepperoni, peppers, bacon, sausage, ground beef, fresh basil, etc.

How To Make A Low Carb Pizza?
The steps to make this keto pizza recipe are extremely simple.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
Combine one pound of ground chicken, one egg, one tablespoon of minced garlic, one Tablespoon of Italian Seasoning, 1 Tablespoon of minced dry onion, one cup of parmesan cheese (grated or powdered), and one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese in a large bowl. I use my hands to really mix the ingredients together. It is more like kneading the ingredients.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. You can also use a pizza pan, however I prefer the baking sheet with sides as there will be a little bit of grease from the meat cooking.
Spread the mixture with either your hands or a rolling pin. I prefer to use my hands as the mixture tends to get stuck on the rolling pin. It is super easy to mold the chicken dough mixture and to make the thickness of the pizza dough as thick or as thin as you wish.
Here is a pro tip: I like a thin crust pizza. For the best results, press your chicken until it is thin. It will cook faster and you will get a crispy crust.

Place the flattened chicken dough into the oven and bake until golden brown. This took about 25 minutes.

Remove the golden crust from the oven once browned. Drain off any grease that may be on the sheet. There should be very little because ground chicken is low in fat.

Top with your favorite toppings. I used a low carb marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon pieces, pepperoni, green peppers, and onions.

Place back into the oven for about 10 minutes or until all cheese is melted.

Cut with a knife or a pizza wheel. Serve with a side salad or vegetable.
