Pork. Cranberry sauce. Lipton soup mix. Crockpot. Done. This remarkably uncomplicated recipe should be added to your go to recipe repertoire. Your family will be drooling for more when you make this set and forget cranberry pork roast.
Why Should You Use A Crockpot To Make A Roast?
Why should you use a crockpot to make your pork roast? The answer is two fold. Using a crockpot to make your pork roast will result in your meat being tender and juicy. You will not even have to use a knife to cut this roast. The second reason to use a crockpot is simply convenience. Set your crockpot in the morning and return in the evening with a meal already prepared. This is a no brainer for me.
Can you use your oven? Yes. Should you use your oven, you will need to bake your roast for at least two and a half hours to get the same tender, juicy meat. I also recommend using a baking pan with a lid.

Cranberry Pork Roast Recipe
I used a boneless half butt pork roast for this recipe. My roast was a little less than 5 pounds. I like to use this instead of a pork tenderloin as it has fat and the meat is more tender and juicy. You can use a pork tenderloin as well.
Place the roast into your crockpot.
Mix together a can of whole cranberry sauce and a packet of Lipton Onion Soup
Using a spoon, smear the mixture on top of your roast.
Set your crockpot to low. Let cook for between 7-8 hours. If you want your roast done more quickly, set to high and let cook for approximately 5-6 hours.
Serve.
In Summary
The crockpot is a wonderful invention for the working mom. Throw in a few ingredients and come home to a tasty, home cooked meal. Wanna make the family feel as if you have slaved in the kitchen? Serve this recipe for Cranberry Pork Roast with some rice and maybe even some cooked carrots. You will be a super hero!
