Family Friendly Hanging Bridges Tour in Costa Rica

The family friendly Hanging Bridges tour was a remarkable adventure that engaged all members of my family. My son was in awe of the scenery.

Do you have a desire to travel Costa Rica through an affordable, kid-friendly company? In my past post, I discussed how our family booked an inclusive tour through EcoTerra Costa Rica on Groupon. What activities should you do while staying in La Fortuna? I highly recommend the family friendly Hanging Bridges Tour. This is an optional tour also provided by EcoTerra Costa Rica. The cost is $69.00 per person and includes bus transportation from your hotel.

The Hanging Bridges Forest Reserve

The Hanging Bridges Forest Reserve covers an area of 600 acres of protected forest. The 2 mi. circuit trail crosses 15 impressive bridges, some suspended over the forest canopy and others, which are stationary. The bridges have different lengths and altitudes and were designed to offer different perspectives from which to observe the flora and fauna, as you pass through several levels of the forest. From the bridges, you will have views of the treetops making it easier to locate animals and birds.

Wildlife

During our transition from bridge to bridge, we saw some wildlife. This included a sloth, a viper, and leaf cutter ants. Our tour guide answered all of my son’s many questions. He never got frustrated with the insane amount of silly comments and questions my 11-year old had for him. I found his patience to be exceptional.

In summary

I would highly recommend visiting the Hanging Bridges Forest Reserve if traveling in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Stay tuned for our next blog post where l will detail the next stop on our Costa Rican Adventure using EcoTerra Costa Rica’s tour.
