SunWest Park is located in Pasco County, Florida off Highway 19 in Hudson, Florida. Developed on a former limestone mine, there is a 70 acre spring fed lake, beach, aqua park, wake boarding cable park, as well as kayaks and paddleboards. Visit today for fun in the sun at SunWest Park!
Cost:
A parking pass costs only $5 for the day. If you live in the area, you can obtain an annual parking pass for $30 if you are a Pasco County resident or $50 nonresidents.
The $5 parking pass will give you access to the sandy beach and spring swimming area. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. during the summer months. In addition, there are bathroom facilities.

They have installed a lightning detection system. While we were visiting the park, the system detected lightning nearby. A siren sounded letting everyone know to vacate the beach area for their safety. When the lightning passed, another siren let us know it was okay to return to the beach and water.
Optional activities for additional cost:
Should you wish to engage in water sports while visiting SunWest Park, you can book those through The Lift Adventure Park.
Activities include:
- The Aqua Park: The Union Aqua Park is an inflatable obstacle course on top of the water. It is massive! The fee is $15 for 45 minutes. Believe me when I say you will be exhausted after 45 minutes. You are given a life vest. The aqua park is over water that is approximately 30 feet in depth. Children need to be over seven years of age and 45 inches to participate. I would highly recommend wearing water shoes. The inflatable gets very hot on your feet. I would also recommend not wearing sunglasses. I wore my Costa sunglasses and promptly lost them.

- The Wake Park: If you wish to learn how to wake board, this is the place to do it. They have a beginner cable, but you must make reservations in advance. A two hour pass for the wake board cable is $28. An all day pass is $48. You must rent a board, life jacket, and a helmet for an additional cost.

- Kayak or paddleboard: Rent a kayak or paddleboard and explore the spring fed lake. The kayak and paddleboard pass is $10.
A waiver is required to be signed for all of the activities. A waiver for any minor must be signed by an adult. Any child under 12 years of age will need a parent to accompany them on the aqua park.
The Lift Adventure Park also offers a half day summer camp.

This looks like it would be a lot of fun with kids! I’d love to try out the aqua park too (I’m just a big kid lol!) I did have one question – where do you go when the lightning siren sounds?
Katie,
Great question! When the siren sounds, lifeguards advise you to get out of the water. They then state if you choose not to do so, you are doing so at your own risk. It is up to you as to where you go. Some people just got out of the water and stayed on the beach. Not us, we went to our car and tried to wait out the storm. We ended up leaving and coming back later.

I have never heard of Hudson, although we have been to Flordia many times as we got married there a long time ago. Looks like a fun place to go. My daughter would love to do some wakeboarding.
Rhonda,
Hudson is a very tiny town, however it is bordered by larger towns such as Tarpon Springs, Port Richey, New Port Richey. There is quite a lot to do in the general area.

Can I take with me my on paddle board and explore the water park?
Hi, Aranis.
According to SunWest Park’s Facebook page, they do not allow you to bring your own paddleboards. In addition, the aqua park is roped off and only those with a wrist band are allowed in that area.
